The Fabulous
1890s Weekend Dennis Miller, cochair of the Weekend, said plans are
already being made for next year's event. "We plan to bring professor marvel and Miss
Eileen back," "We've also had a lot of request to have Clyde Peeling's Reptile Show return," Miller said. "They packed the tent, put on a show that was both mesmerizing and educational." Stay tuned for more updates as they come in. The Motorless Parade. That's right. No motors in this parade packed with 19th century costumes, tons of horses, magnificent carriages and marching bands. The parade begins at 11 a.m. Saturday. Balloon Rally. Experience the breathtaking beauty of graceful balloons floating over the rolling Pennsylvania mountains. For an unforgettable experience, sign up for a ride! Westward Ho! The West was still wild in the 1890's and the Tioga Valley Saddle Club adds some 1890s western flavor with cowboys, dance hall girls, and a saloon full of food and soft drinks. Family Entertainment. Strolling banjo players, bands, games and other family entertainment create a leisurely, fun day as you experience the color and friendliness of Mansfield in the 1890's. Children's Area. To give parents time to leisurely shop at all the craft booths, our fully supervised childrens area has day-long games and activities. Music. String bands and other live groups provide upbeat music throughout the day. Fabulous 1890's Duck Race. Sponsored by the Mansfield Kiwanis Club, this fund raiser for charity grows every year with dozens of prizes!Coopers Battery B First Light Artillery and The Bucktails 1st Pennsylvania Rifles will again set up camp. Thousands of Civil War Veterans were still alive in the 1890's and often took part in parades. Men and women will talk about and demonstrate what life was like during this tumultuous time in American history. 1890's Football Re-enactment. Our MU guys have the only team in the world that can accurately re-create football of the 1890's. Its rugged, fast-paced, and often humorous. It was called "the killer sport." See why! Fabulous Fireworks. A magnificent end to a
beautiful weekend! Commemorating Mansfields role in Americas history, the
1890s fireworks have gained a reputation for being intense and grand.
